Position Description: |
| The Tutor is responsible for providing academic instruction that is geared toward meeting individual student needs while keeping students motivated to learn. Tutors will diagnose student needs, provide instruction, monitor growth and evaluate overall student learning. |

Primary Accountabilities/ Deliverables: |
 |
Administer diagnostic and end-of-year assessments |
 |
Plan, prepare and implement direct, explicit instruction that facilitates student mastery of essential concepts based on diagnostic assessment results |
 |
Maintain a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences |
 |
Adhere to Huxtable Education Group’s curriculum guidelines to ensure the successful implementation of the instructional program |
 |
Administer progress monitoring assessments |
 |
Demonstrate gains in student performance |
 |
Document lesson plan activities and student growth |
 |
Complete progress reports for parents, teachers and school district officials |
 |
Participate in professional development activities |
 |
Demonstrates punctuality and attends all instructional sessions |

| |
Education, Certifications, and Work Related Experiences: |
 |
AA Degree/Junior standing in a college of education, BS/BA Degree or higher |

Teacher Certification (preferred, not required) |
 |
Experience teaching/tutoring in elementary or middle school settings |
|
|
|

Technical Skills and Competencies: |
 |
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, colleagues and other professionals |

Possess strong student management skills |
 |
Display effective multi-tasking and time management skills |
 |
Ability to interpret student assessment data |

Maintain regular email communication |

Working Conditions: |
| Tutors will work in public school classrooms where they will be responsible for the instruction and management of small groups of students. |
