Reading/Language Arts  
 

Huxtable Education Group's instructional reading/language arts program is aligned with the reports published by the National Reading Panel (NRP, 2000), the Reading First initiative (2001), and the No Child Left Behind Act (2001) that identify five critical areas of reading instruction: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.Oral language development, guided and independent reading, word study and writing are also included as essential components of the instructional program.
