Students who receive free or reduced lunch and attend a Title I school designated by the state to be in need of improvement status for two or more consecutive years are eligible for supplemental educational services (SES). The term "supplemental educational services" refers to free extra academic help, such as tutoring and/or remedial intervention, that is provided to students in subjects such as reading, language arts, and math.
